Description: Assault infantry land from LCAs while LCTs prepare to land Churchill bridge-laying tank (AVRE) and Sherman Crab flail tanks onto the 'invasion' beach watched by observers and exercise umpires, notably the 2nd Army commander, Lieutenant-General Dempsey. Covered by smoke, the Sherman Crabs flail for mines while a Churchill bridge-layer moves up with the infantry to span an anti-tank ditch at the top of the beach. Infantrymen file through a gap in the beach defences and search a pillbox. Commandos disembark from LCAs beached near dryshod Valentine DD tanks. Sherman tanks, the follow-up brigade's infantry, Beach Group troops, the assault brigade's transport, Sherman tank and M5 half-track OP and command vehicles, the bulk of the commando force and Shermans and infantrymen from the third ? brigade land from LCI(L)s, LCTs, LCI(S)s while RAF Spitfires provide overhead cover. The cameraman examines signs planted by Beach Group troops and observes tracking being laid on the beach for wheeled vehicles. A signaller at a Beach Group headquarters and HMS Dacres exchange signals by Aldis lamp.
