Other titles:BRITISH ARMY OPERATIONS IN SOUTH EAST ASIA DURING THE SECOND WORLD WAR [Allocated Series Title]
Summary: In Medan, Sumatra, a number of Indonesian buildings are taken over for use by the headquarters of 26th Indian Division.
Description: Very dark interiors at an office block as Major C G Angus (of the Gordon Highlanders and from Cults, Aberdeen) and Major W H Coham-Fleming discuss the takeover with officials. Exterior shot of the building with street traffic. At an Indonesian bank building Coham-Fleming speaks with the manager; the bank staff are put under armed guard while discussions take place. Exterior shot of the building shows splodges of dark paint; presumably as a result of nationalist graffiti being painted out. Completely black interiors apparently from the takeover of buildings used by the 'Free Indonesia Merdeka Press'. Staff under guard. Piles of paper outside the building.
