Summary: Scenes of devastation in the village of Cristot.
Description: The camera surveys the extent of the devastation around the ruined church at the centre of the farming village of Cristot the day following its capture by the 1/4th Battalion King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Among the ruins lie three wrecked German vehicles, a late-type SdKfz 251 halftrack armoured personnel carrier from one of the Panzer Lehr Division's panzer- grenadier regiments (the 902nd), an unidentifiable German truck and a late-type SdKfz 250 halftrack ammunition carrier from the 12th SS Panzer Division Hitlerjugend (identifiable as such from its heraldic emblem). The swollen carcass of a cow lies near a large farmhouse now well ablaze after being hit by German shells.
