- Description: I. 'TRIAL OF CASEMENT Crowds waiting outside Bow St. Police Station in the vain hope of obtaining a glimpse of the prisoner.' HA to entrance of the station where a small crowd has gathered by the doors. During the sequence the crowd grows in size. Some press photographers are present. A policemen holding some papers stands in the doorway - perhaps preparatory to reading a statement to the crowd. II. 'MR. ASQUITH IN DUBLIN Sir John Maxwell inspecting the Trinity College Officers Training Corps in the grounds of Trinity College.' MS as Maxwell and officers walk along lines of OTC and St John Ambulance Corps. 'IRISH VOLUNTEERS Mr Asquith and Lady Wimborne watch the march past of the Irish Association Voluntary Training Corps.' Asquith, Lady Wimborne, wife of the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, and Lieutenant General Maxwell stand at the saluting point as men march past. III. 'GERMAN RIFLES Rifles and pikes used by the rebels in the riots, being brought in and stacked up by soldiers.' On a Dublin street a soldier carries past a bundle of home made pikes. Others follow carrying rifles which they stack against a wall. MS pan over the collected firearms and pieces of kit - it is a miscellaneous collection which includes a Martini-Henry, one or two Austrian M88 Mannlichers, a double-barrelled shotgun, an under-lever repeating rifle, a Mauser 71 and an English falling block sporting or target rifle. The kit includes a French bayonet. A rather corpulent officer inspects some of the captured rifles. CUs as a soldier works the bolt on an Italian Vetterli rifle and opens the breech on a Snider, holding it up to the camera. IV. 'FOUNDLINGS ON PARADE Bishop Taylor-Smith, Maj-General Sir Francis Lloyd and the Lord Mayor attend the Foundling Hospital and inspect the children'. The VIPs pass down lines of small boys and then girls all turned out in school uniform.
