Summary: Air operations in support of the Dieppe Raid.
Description: An air to air shot of the fighter escort shows a Spitfire turning or weaving amongst the force. Another shot shows the raiding force at sea. Good views of Spitfires of 118 Squadron and Hurricanes of 87 landing and taking off show the aircraft to advantage. A Spitfire of 501 Squadron is seen starting up and moving off. The extensively damaged rudder of Hurricane Mk IIb serial number Z5153 is removed by riggers who also inspect a large whole in the fin (in close up). Groundcrew relax and as the camera pans, aircrew are also seen relaxing and laughing at two of their number as they wrestle on the ground.
