Summary: An outline of the work of the Women's Air Force, in the framework of a bombing raid on Bremen.
Description: Film opens with a WAAF reading in a newspaper a "congratulations to all concerned" message from Portal. WAAF's are shown at HQ in messenger, telephonist and teleprinter-operator functions - on the base, some work as secretaries and (as the aircrews are briefed) others prepare rations, drive vans. WAAF wireless operators are on duty as the planes "take off" and "approach target" (film of Wellingtons and Blenheims used) - others are shown relaxing, waiting for news. A note of drama is struck when one plane fails to report by radio: all, however, return safely and WAAF's cook and serve a meal (after aircrew's debriefing). Ends with film of a WAAF watching planes overhead while commentary makes a recruiting appeal.
