Summary:
Description: A sergeant checks his first-aid kit before he and his regimental aid post move off with the rest of the 4th Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers (RWF) to its start-line for an assault on Evrecy in the evening of July 16th 1944. The Fusiliers march past the crew of Loyd carrier from the battalion's anti-tank platoon which is trying to start up its engine. Infantrymen take a break during the preparations for the operation. Churchill infantry tanks and Stuart light tanks from the 7th Royal Tank Regiment move up with the 4th RWF to 158th Brigades' start-lines; providing the 7th RTR with additional fire-power are M10 SPGs from the 86th Anti-Tank Regiment RA. At dawn on the following day, Shermans from the Royal Scots Greys move up towards the Odon bridge-head. A 1st Battalion Middlesex Regiment universal carrier crosses the Odon at Tourville; units from the 46th Brigade march through Tourville past an abandoned German 10.5cm howitzer. Humber armoured cars from the 15th Reconnaissance Regiment pass a knocked-out Panther Ausf. D tank (formally of the 10th SS Panzer Division?) on the road leading into Tourville.
