- Title: DD VALENTINE [Main Title]
- Film Number: ADM 981
- Other titles: INVASION EQUIPMENT TRIALS [Allocated Series Title]
- Summary: Sea trials of Duplex Drive Valentine.
- Description: Valentine DD, screen collapsed, drives from beach onto LCT 340. LCT then disembarks Valentine into deep water to swim ashore. MS of tank parked on the beach with its flotation screen still raised - a military spectator examines propeller. "General Flotation and Speed": the Valentine at speed in calm water is passed by LCP(R) 774. DD shows off its turning circle. On re-entering the LCT from the water, the tank becomes stuck, and slides back slightly askew down the ramp. Final sequence shows a porpoise being loaded with sacks, to a weight of 1200 lbs, and connected by two cross-over tow bars to the Valentine. The tank drags the sledge down the LCT's vehicle ramp into the water, and gets underway - because of the disturbed water in the tank's wake, the tow does not ride centrally but slews round to starboard.
