Summary:
Description: Seen from the west bank of the Orne river are the Schneider steelworks at Les Colombelles, an industrial suburb on the north- east outskirts of Caen on the east bank of the river. Now in the hands of the 3rd Canadian Division, the factory had been used as an OP by the Germans who were able to survey all over the Orne bridgehead and the approaches to Caen from the steelworks' chimneys - now there are no chimneys left. Two men of the 2nd East Yorkshire Regiment scan the surrounding countryside from a hedge outside Touffreville. An Army Film and Photographic Unit jeep follows the bombed-out Caen-Troarn railway in the equally devastated village of Banneville-la-Campagne.
