Description: A troop of 25 pounder field guns from 69th Field Regiment RA's 189th Battery is seen bombarding 67th Wehrmacht Korps' formation counter-attacking 146th Brigade's positions around Poppel from gun-lines in heath country near the village of Weelde. The cameraman focuses on at least three 25-pounder gun detachments in action.
Notes: Summary: See with A70 171-6, 7, 172-7, 8, 174-5, 9 175-4, 5, 190-4, 192-2 to 5 for footage showing 49th Division in action with 1st Canadian Army from 28/9/1944 to 7/11/1944. Launching 67th Wehrmacht Korps' counter-attack on 49th Division at Poppel were 'Kampfgruppe Chill' and 719th Infantry Division; the former included 6th Fallschirmjäger Regiment.
