Description: Troops who have just had a hot shower dry themselves with towels, get dressed and cut their toenails in a farmyard in the village of Fontenay-le-Pesnel during a brief period out of the line following the capture of the Rauray spur. Men pour buckets of water into a large tank heated by a wood fire from where the shower water is drawn. Naked men scrub themselves clean in showers set up in the lee of a farmhouse.
