Description: I. A football match between the French Army and the Royal Air Force held in a football stadium in Amiens in northern France. An unidentified French general greets the British players whose captain, Leading Aircraftman Gibbons, used to play for Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur. An RAF officer (a Flight Lieutenant) is introduced to the French team. The two team captains spin a coin and the RAF kicks off. There is coverage of moments in the game. French army and RAF personnel watch the game from the main spectators' stand.
II. In an operating theatre at No. 3 Casualty Clearing Station (CCS) run by the Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC) at Mondicourt, a village between Doullens and Arras in northern France, two doctors and a nurse remove the sling and splint from a patient with a broken right forearm and encase his injured limb in tightly-wrapped bandages and plaster of Paris.
III. Scenes at a railhead in northern France (the railway station at Doullens) where members of the Royal Army Service Corps transfer sacks containing bread loaves from lorries into railway boxcars.
IV. Scenes inside the CCS at Mondicourt showing the soldier with the injured right forearm having it X-rayed. Afterwards he leaves the house in use by the CCS with his arm in a sling. An RAMC radiologist is seen using a mobile X-ray laboratory (a specially adapted 6x4 lorry). The X-ray reproductions show a break in the two bones in the casualty's right forearm. Afterwards two patients leave the CCS with their arms in slings and plaster.
V. Gunners serving with a light anti-aircraft artillery unit are seen filling sandbags when the non-commissioned officer in charge orders them to man their new Bofors 40mm anti-aircraft gun which they have christened 'Fanny Adams'. They are seen closed-up around the gun, ready with fresh clips of 40mm rounds, as they pretend to deal with low-flying enemy aircraft. The gunners put on gas-proof capes and gas masks to deal with the threat of a chemical attack.
