Description: (Tape 1) Visit to Girdwood Barracks by the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Patrick Mayhew. Muttley (a golden retriever, the Girdwood Barracks mascot dog) accompanies 2RTR on patrol in the Ardoyne district.
(Tape 2) Captain Mike Ingram of 2nd Royal Tank Regiment is interviewed about the health of Muttley. Further scenes of the dog on patrol with the soldiers in a Saxon armoured personnel carrier. Members of 2RTR and youth workers from the Wishmill Family Centre (which on the peace line in Belfast) take a cross-denominational group of youths on a country break. They stay at The Breen Centre, a community hostel near Armoy. Activities shown include football and a coach trip to the coast, where the youths walk on the cliffs, cross the Carrick-a-rede rope bridge at Larrybane, and generally enjoy themselves. Interviews with Tim McIlwaine (Wishmill youth worker) and Corporal Suzanne Crawford-Weeks (Adjutant General's Corps, attached to 2nd Royal Tank Regiment).
