Summary: Account of the activities on Artillery Day 1990 at Knighton Down, Larkhill, when the Royal Artillery showcased its capabilities to the public.
Description: After an opening montage with music, a section shows the transformation of Knighton Down into a display area and arena: tents are erected, vehicles arrive, static displays and exhibits are set up. Scenes of the active displays in the Central Arena: parachute team of 7 Battalion Royal Horse Artillery, the MOD dog team, men and mounts of King's Troop Royal Artillery (on horseback with horsedrawn gun limbers), glider lands. C130 hercules drops soldiers of 7 RAF Regiment and lands to deploy two light guns of F Battery RA. More light guns are displayed (some brought in by Sea King helicopter. Heliborne Rapier and Javelin AD missiles are also delivered. Demonstration of various weaponry: Tracked Rapier, Warrior, M107and M110, Abbot, M109, 105mm howitzer, FH70. For finale, Hagglund BV 207 vehicles with guns, all in winter dazzle camouflage, join the other weapons for a spectacular massed artillery display.
