Description: I. Long shots of Boeing 727-228 YA-FAY of Ariana Afghan Airlines being prepared for take-off en route to India (this was the first civilian flight outside Kabul since the ousting of the Taliban). General views of air traffic control tower and surrounding area, and shots of passenger aircraft in Red Cross livery. Passengers arrive to board the Ariana flight.
II. Scenes in the air traffic control tower; Afghan air controllers work alongside RAF. Shots from the window down towards the Ariana flight: many photographers are present to record the historic departure. Hercules aircraft takes off in background.
