Description: The reel consists in the main of close ups of the 'nose-art' painted on the bombers. The artwork is as follows. 'UNCLE JOE' shows a caricature of Stalin superimposed onto a Red Star. There are 43 bomb mission symbols and 13 red stars under the cockpit. A 'fan ' of cards shows the Queen of Hearts. Mission symbols are red hearts. 'ADMIRAL SHYTE-AWK' sports 21 bombs and 24 small kangaroos. 'SNIFTER OF SUNNY SYDNEY' shows a smiling dog walking away from a tree. An un-named aircraft carries 14 mission symbols as lipstick kisses whilst the artwork shows a half-woman, half-bomb character. 'WHOA BESSIE' is a cartoon cow, the mission symbols are milk bottles. Two unnamed aircraft show an angry man and the other a cartoon man carrying a bomb. After a shot of the cameraman in the middle of the runway Lancasters are filmed in the progressively darkening light.
