Description: I. Fragments of interview with RAF nurse Sergeant Sarah Hill about her experiences in Iraq, including flying out to Al-Amarah with the Quick Reaction Force, and other activities (treating injuries from gunshots, riots etc). Chinook helicopter is in the background. (See also tape 9.)
II. Interior of medical Chinook: Sergeant Hill describes the equipment and medical facilities available.
III. Miscellaneous airmedical activities. Night shots of ambulance convoy and Chinook taking off. Daytime: Chinooks on airfield at Basra. Night shot of Globemaster aircraft bringing in casualties; ambulance awaits. In daylight, casualty is stretchered from ambulance into aeromed tent. Equipment is packed on board Chinook including spinal board. Night shot: casualties are stretchered on board a C17 Globemaster aircraft from battlefield ambulance. On board, they are strapped into special beds with medical facilities ready for the flight. One casualty is treated and given a saline drip.
