Summary: Briefings for members of 51 Squadron the RAF Regiment at desert encampment.
Description: I. Members of 51 Squadron gather for an open air briefing on search procedures; whiteboard has rough street diagram for area search. (Poor sound.)
II. Convoy of camouflaged vehicles (mainly Land Rovers with trailers) line up by tented camp. Members of 51 Squadron assemble and walk past into the camp. Two Humvees and a giant fork lift drive past.
III. Open-air lecture for members of the RAF Regiment on techniques of house clearance, whilst still stressing the importance of "hearts and minds", and giving descriptions of worst case scenario in a streetfighting situation. Demonstrations of methods for checking out and searching suspect house and taking prisoners. Basic wooden building frames are used for the demonstrations.
IV. Second briefing by a Flight Lieutenant on the rules of engagement and also further discusses patrolling in urban areas. Sound is very poor due to wind blowing on the microphone.
V. Informal shots of members of the Mobile News Team going back to their office; they also carry out an exterior search in response to a request over the public address system. General views of the area.
