Summary: RAF medical activities in Basra one year after the invasion of Iraq.
Description: Medics from Aeromedical centre at Basra airport at night, and race for their Land Rover (staged scene; cameraman asks officer to do it again). Scene on the apron at Basra International Airport: a C17 Globemaster, adapted with a medical area for the transporting of stretchered casualties, stands with its rear loading door open. Medics and firemen load casualties (on stretchers) from the back of a Land Rover Battlefield Ambulance and carry them into the curtained medical area on the aircraft. Chinook taxies past; another patient (possibly from the Chinook) is stretchered across the apron. Medic carries patients' bags onto aircraft. Patients are attended to by team of medics (some in high-visibility jackets); saline drips are attached to the rails above the stretcher/beds. Aircrew of the C17 talk to medics. Boxes of medical equipment and gas cylinders are sorted out; patients are strapped in prior to flight.
