Summary: Jumbled and possibly unrelated scenes of British forces on the Western Front, May 1918.
Description: Men of the Chinese Labour Corps march along a road. Two of the Suffolk Regiment (?) who escaped from the Germans are questioned by a British officer. A light railway train carrying ammunition moves through the rear areas of the battlefield. A dump of 9.2-inch shells with a sign held up "one day's rations for one gun". Troops unload and stack shells from a light train. Royal Engineers in a wood by the railway make defences of cheveux-de-frise from tree trunks and barbed wire. Gunners remove the camouflage from shells in a dump and fire them from a 12-inch railway gun (film disjointed). The gunners rest and eat. German prisoners with British soldiers guarding them. British soldiers resting, probably at a dressing station. Ammunition limbers move down a road. A 6-inch Mk VII gun battery in action. Soldiers resting in a village. Intelligence officers inspecting prisoners. British soldiers marching along a road. German prisoners (some wave at the camera). A line of Cavalrymen with their horses by the road mount up and move off.
