Description: (17-18 November 1943) A Liaison meeting at the Charing Cross Hotel, central London, between the Southern Railway, the Army, the Royal Navy and the RAF. Across a large table the smartly dressed attendees sift through piles of documents and discuss some of the details. SH291
(25 November 1943) Two American Army Officers, a nurse and three civilian men disembark from an American Red Cross ambulance train carriage (“MEDICAL DEPARTMENT U.S. ARMY”), at Waterloo Station in London. The carriage stands alone on the platform as groups of civilians and American Army personnel cluster in groups. A group of four American Officers, one a Major-General, stand in front of the carriage. The Major-General points at the “TRANSPORTATION CORPS” insignia on the side of the carriage. The final segment in the sequence shows the American Officers, and the nurse from previous shots, on the platform. (2 min 5 sec) SH292
(7 December 1943) An American, “USA”, locomotive coming into the platform at Salisbury Station, Wiltshire (Technical: slightly underexposed). The 2-6-0 locomotive briefly comes to a halt as a locomotive on the adjacent platform pulls away.
