Description: (1 November 1944) An electric locomotive coming into Newhaven Station, the South coast of England, followed by troops alighting onto the platform. The troops appear to be from a Scottish regiment, wearing Balmoral Bonnets, and carry heavy bags of equipment. SH367
(2 November 1944) German Prisoners of War (POWs) are marched down the quayside and ushered into waiting carriages at Newhaven Harbour. All ware Wehrmacht greatcoats and appear hurried, as a handful of British Army guards usher them along. An Electric locomotive (No. 36), hauling several carriages and leaving the station. (2 November 1944) Damage to railway tracks and the signal box at Hampton Court Junction in South West London from a V2 rocket strike. A large group of workers have gathered and work is underway to begin repairs. A shot pans over a brick viaduct with minor blemished, but more severe damage has been incurred along the bank and to a signal box. (2 min 20 sec) SH369
(3 November 1944) More damage caused by a V2 rocket strike, at Hither Green in South East London. The wreckage of several railway wagons are moved by crane. Carriages have been thrown off their tracks and damaged beyond repair. Workmen dig with shovels to try and clear some of the debris. (3 min 32 sec) SH370
(7 November 1944) V2 rocket damage to “John Bull” bridge. Cranes and workmen try to clear the debris from the lower tracks, whilst locomotives pass overhead. One section of the bridge has collapsed, and a number of buildings have been severely damaged in the blast. Welding work to try and break down the tangled girders is underway. (5 min 42 sec) SH371
