Summary: A short film on the time passed by the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry in winter quarters in "Weystone", a fictional English village (actually Godstone, Surrey).
Description: Sequence of establishing shots (swans, old pub, village green); arrival of first carriers. Troops are billeted, officers in a 16th century farmhouse, the colonel in the 'White Hart'. Some shots of training (hand grenade, Thompson smg, carriers). Most of film shows soldiers and civilians together - troops help wash up, do laundry, look after children, do crossword, play pontoon, visit pub and play darts. In the spring they leave again (last church-parade, band playing). "Weystone liked the Pats, and the Pats liked Weystone."
