Summary: An impression of the work of the Canadian Army Forestry Corps in Britain.
Description: Film opens with general material on the arrival of Canada's volunteer troops in England; central part of film shows lumberjacks at work in Scotland, felling trees, transporting logs, in sawmills etc. while commentary talks of their different origins and expertise. They are also shown in battle training ("experienced fighting men too"..."brought up with guns in their hands") and at recreation, befriending the local population. A sequence suggest uses for the wood they cut (repairs and building - bridges, railways, camps, etc.) and film closes with some "eternal forest" symbolism.
