Summary: Reels 2 and 3 only of a 3 reel film on the Soviet education system.
Description: The two reels deal principally with extracurricular pursuits. Special encouragement is given to budding musicians and engineers (the latter have access to model machine shops). A chess master plays 20 children at once. Fencing and ballet are shown, as is a joining ceremony for the young pioneers. In the summer holidays children can enjoy various activities such as farm work, athletics, parachute jumping, working on a railway run entirely by children, hiking and war games, all highly regimented. In the spring, they prepare for their last exams. An important event is the visit to the Polytechnical Museum where every type of apparatus from every field of technology is on display. After the graduation dance, future careers (farmer, engineer, miner, doctor?) have to be considered.
