Summary: The story of a 'typical incident' on the Russian front.
Description: The Red Army's advance is held up by a German strongpoint; in the trenches a popular young Lieutenant is told by a wounded comrade that a surprise raid might be able to knock it out. The Lieutenant volunteers to lead a raid, and is given permission by a Captain who warns of the danger. The Lieutenant picks 4 men from volunteers, and after some difficulties they capture the strongpoint. The Germans mount a large counterattack, including tanks (use of captured film); the Russians call down artillery bombardment on their own position (some actuality Russian news film); not only is the counterattack beaten off, and the strongpoint held by the Russians, but the raiding-party survive. Film ends with predictable 'hospital' scene.
