Description: I. 'HONOURS FOR THE BRAVE.' King George VI presents medals to members of the General Duties branch of the RAF at a hangar investiture at an undisclosed location (including DFC).
II. 'THE QUEEN VISITS A HOSPITAL.' Queen Elizabeth is escorted by nursing staff on a tour of hospital wards and grounds. The Queen chats informally with bandaged soldiers wounded at Dunkirk.
III. 'GENERAL IRONSIDE INSPECTS HOME DEFENCES.' Royal Navy ratings armed with Lee-Enfield .303-in Mk III rifles march past General Ironside, Commander-in-Chief of Home Forces. General Ironside then inspects a guard of honour.
IV. 'WOMEN TAKE OVER.' Members of the Women's Land Army engaged in forestry (lumberjills) and the manufacture of wooden planking using a mobile circular saw. Women are shown at work in factories. V. 'AEROPLANE FACTORIES WORK DAY AND NIGHT.' Various views of workers, including elderly men, in an aircraft factory at an undisclosed location. Shots of industrial processes involved in manufacture of metal aircraft propellers. A Bristol Blenheim Mk I bomber aircraft approaches the camera in a low level pass.
VI. 'AUSTRALIAN AND CANADIAN TROOPS REACH ENGLAND.' Crowd scenes at an undisclosed deep sea port facility as smiling troops disembark (Liverpool ?). Some troops from New Zealand are also evident in the assembled civilian crowd.
