Description: At the Morden Bog Nature Reserve in Dorset in 1967, members of the Unit study mosquito populations, for overseas use and also for British ecology. Four pathogen-free rabbits were released to detect the presence of viruses transmitted by biting insects; blood tested for viruses eight weeks later, suckling mice used to detect virus in rabbit blood.
