Title:CR DECONTAMINATION AFTER SPECIAL OPERATIONS [Allocated Title]
Film Number:DED 208
Other titles:PORTON DOWN VIDEO COLLECTION [Allocated Series Title]
Summary: Unedited footage with live sound of a chemical warfare decontamination exercise.
Description: (Tape 1) Volunteers in NBC suits sit in a motor coach which is filled with a chemical agent (CR gas - dibenzoxazepine - in thick vapour form). Windows are smashed and the volunteers exit the coach - some are blindfolded and are led out by others; they then have their NBC suits cut away and go through a complete decontamination.
(Tape 2) Soldiers in NBC suits stand inside a sealed shed in a woodland (at Porton Range); injectors release CR gas and men enter from outside to "rescue" casualties, who are stretchered out (one has a gruesome abdominal "injury"). They are carried to a decontamination caravan and are loaded inside, where escapees, rescue teams and casualties all go through decontamination procedures.
