Summary: Narrated account of trial MADONA (Meteorology and Dispersion Over Non-uniform Areas), a multi-national field experiment designed to monitor wind flow over a moderately contoured terrain, and create a database giving this information.
Description: The trial took place at the Chemical and Biological Defence Establishment (CBDE) range at Porton Down in September 1992. Silicon dioxide and ammonium chloride smoke is released across the range; "Mini-Dynam" system equipment monitors results; lidar (laser radar rangefinder) is also used. The results of the various tests were recorded on video.
