Summary: Members of the BUAV gather in protest at one of the gates (little more than hinged tubular metal barriers) to the Chemical Defence Experimental Establishment; they are watched over by members of the Ministry of Defence Police. Camera position is behind this barrier.
Description: Demonstrators gather outside the gate; they have parked their vehicles alongside the country road which leads to the site. The protesters are almost all middle aged and elderly, mainly women, and are dressed conservatively. Placards are held, bearing messages such as "Protest against cruel experiments on animals at Porton", "Vivisection is cruel and useless", and "Watch your pet! They may be stolen and sold for vivisection". Two members hold banners promoting the BUAV. The demonstration is very orderly; afterwards, the protesters walk to their vehicles and drive away.
