Summary: The second exhibition of British Military vehicles at Chertsey in collaboration with the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders (SMMT) in September 1956.
Description: An opportunity to discuss the features of vehicles with other officers of the three services, representatives of Nato countries and Americans. The vehicles on film are as follows:- WADING PIT:-Austin Champ; Humber 1 ton; Leyland 10 ton Med. Arty Tractor; Saracen APC; Ferret MkII; Cambridge Carrier; FV420; Centurion. PAVE' and SLIP PADS:- Saladin; Ferret MkI & II; Humber 1 ton; Austin Champ; Saracen APC; Thorneycroft 5 ton Field Arty Tractor; Triumph Twin M/cycle. TEST SLOPES:- Triumph M/cycle; Ferret MkI; Saracen APC; Conqueror. A Centurion is off - loaded from a 60ton semi-trailer towed by an Antar. Finally a VIP is picked up by a mock-up vintage taxi which then hurtles up the test slope.
