Summary: A narrated film produced by the Admiralty Experiment Works (AEW), Haslar, Gosport, Hampshire, showing the testing of the Illustrious and Light Fleet carrier classes of aircraft carriers, using 1/50 scale models in a water tank to illustrate the respective behaviours of each class in different sea-going conditions. Both models are tested at speeds ranging from 10 to 30 knots, with the seas varying between still and very rough and the distance between the waves being up to 700 feet.
