Summary: A film produced by the Admiralty Experiment Works (AEW), Haslar, Gosport, Hampshire, showing members of the shore establishment «HMS Hornet», also based in Gosport, on a Royal Navy warship as it practices high speed gunnery and evasive action. The film was taken on the way to a briefing at Invergordon on the east coast of Scotland, as the unidentified destroyer they travelled on sailed with the Home Fleet in the Moray Firth in July 1950.
A separate section of film added after the «HMS Hornet» section shows Lieutenants Carmichael and Hallam on practice attack runs against the fleet, giving the anti aircraft gunners on board Battle class Destroyer «HMS Finisterre» (D.55) the opportunity to train.
