Summary: A film produced by the Admiralty Marine Technology Establishment (AMTE), Haslar, Gosport, Hampshire, showing a series of tests carried out by the experimental and electronics laboratories of the British Hovercraft Corporation, on scale models on the open sea, illustrating the handling capabilities of several vessels in a variety of sea conditions.
Description: All vessels are subjected to simulated Head sea, Bow sea, Beam sea, Quartering sea and Following sea conditions at various speeds up to 30 knots. The first three tests were conducted in late February 1978 and the final series during mid November 1978.
The first test is on a scale model of fisheries protection vessel «HMS Tenacity» (P.276), with the second test including both «HMS Tenacity» and a Ton class coastal minesweeper. The third series of tests shows «HMS Tenacity» alongside an Island class patrol vessel and the final series shows «HMS Tenacity» with a Bird class patrol vessel.
