Summary: Lieutenant General Sir Brian Horrocks talks about General MacArthur.
Description: In this programme Sir Brian Horrocks talks to Peter Lilley about General MacArthur, the "chief architect of the defeat of the Japanese". This programme is not as much of a eulogy as some of the others and Sir Brian Horrocks talks about MacArthur's remoteness and his greater affinity with the East than with America. Horrocks traces his background, upbringing and early military success but says he was "flamboyantly egotistical" and "a great military prima donna". He praises his tactics against the Japanese. As with the others, this is a popular series and Horrocks says nothing that is not now well known.
