Summary: Silent film showing the 4th Anniversary Parade and Service of the local Home Guard at Stroud, 28th May 1944.
Description: This film is shot in the town of Stroud, Gloucestershire and at Frome Hall Park, as a tribute to the men who have formed the Home Guard over the previous four years. The six companies of the 7th Gloucestershire battalion march through the streets and assemble in a park where the Reverend K Williams, Vicar of Stroud, conducts a service and Colonel Pagan delivers an address. The troops are well armed, well uniformed and well drilled and there are good medium close-ups as well as long shots of this very characteristic-looking Home Guard unit.
