Description: Ground level and aerial film of some of the "thousands of gliders" which will play such an important role in the opening of the Second Front. Soldiers of the "Airborne Division" pilot the Hotspur gliders which are towed into the air by Hawker Audax biplanes. Close air/air views of the gliders before the tow ropes are released and the gliders descend and land smoothly ("bad landings are exceptional"). Commentary mentions the effective use of gliders by the Germans during the capture of Crete.
