II. "Victoria." Former heavy weight champion Jack Dempsey, now a Lieutenant Commander and Chief of Physical Instruction for the USN, visits a Melbourne zoo where he sees a kangaroo, koala, platypus and echidna.
III. "Victoria. Perfect country holiday for city children." Children living in the slums of Melbourne enjoy a three-week free stay at a holiday home in the country where they are well fed and clothed and able for the first time to live a healthy outdoor life.
IV. "Newcastle, NSW. Big crowd sees May Day procession." Large procession is made up of many floats and large number of marchers with banners displaying a variety of demands and messages. "Full rights for our Papuan Allies", "Apply Atlantic Charter to Pacific", "Indian Freedom", "Franco is a war criminal", "Students want subsidies" etc.
V. "NSW. 'Shore' is head of the river." Sydney High Schools compete in rowing race up Parramatta River.
