Summary: "Combined Operations."
Description: Members of the Home Guard and soldiers from Eastern Command attend an RAF/Army Cooperation display designed to demonstrate how efficiently and effectively air power can combine with the ground forces during an offensive. Various "numbers" illustrate these new military tactics: Hurricanes swoop low to strafe with machine gun and cannon fire targets representing infantry and motor transports as well as gun troop positions, Bostons release anti-tank bombs and attack "enemy HQ", captured German fighters fly low over the crowd to give the impression of a strafing attack, a Blenheim with a specially fitted "terror-siren" makes an appropriate scream, another forms a smokescreen and the display ends with Whitleys releasing paratroops. During the interval the audience is given the opportunity of inspecting the shot-up targets and is suitably impressed.
