Description: This film, part edited with titles, taken by a local professional photographer, features hilarious material of the Home Guard training with rifles and First World War machine guns, ambushing vehicles, using Smith guns and mortars, having a pillow fight and demonstrating ludicrous forms of camouflage. There are shots of the King and Queen visiting Burnley during the War and being met by the Mayor. There are shots of military units parading - the Home Guard, the three services, women services and the only known colour footage of American GIs in England. There are shots of the local War Savings Campaign headed by local dignitaries.
