The aircraft carrier HMS Bulwark on operations in the South China Sea, moving the Royal Marines to their posting in Sarawak, Borneo. After landing in the jungle in a Wessex helicopter, the Marines start their role policing a section of the border with Indonesia, specifically looking for renewed incursions by communist insurgency groups. 23 years old Marine Lieutenant Ashdown from Somerset heads the eight hour jungle patrol. Film closes with ceremonial band of the Royal Marines.
