- Summary: Members of C Company, 40 Commando Royal Marines in position on "Essex Ridge" overlooking Risaji, continue their engagement with the Taliban into the night (see previous tape for earlier footage of this engagement).
- Description: Night scenes, shot with image intensifier, show the suspect Taliban compound in the distance (image is very grainy). Gun crews keep watch, and a Javelin missile is prepared. WMIK Land Rovers are moved forward. GPMG and 50 calibre guns begin firing sporadically towards the Taliban positions. Tracer fire can be seen, and the Javelin is fired, illuminating the night. Shortly after this, there is incoming fire and the firefight intensifies. (Camera is now at a low angle, as cameraman takes cover in a shell scrape.) Sporadic firing continues for some time. Javelin is prepared for possible second firing. Finally, a fighter aircraft flies over and the target is hit by an airborne 2000lb bomb. Afterwards, all is quiet for a short while, before a mortar bombardment begins. Company withdraws; bombardment continues from other units on a nearby hill.
