- Summary: Members of B Company 2nd Battalion The Royal Gurkha Rifles (2RGR) take part in Operation Mar Nonu in the Musa Qala district, and come into contact with Taliban forces, fighting from compounds. They are assisted here by Apache and Chinook helicopters (latter is a MERT - Medical Emergency Response Team - helicopter) and 1st Battalion the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment (1PWRR).
- Description: Continuation from previous tape. After the firefight, Afghan National Police (ANP) office looks through binoculars. Apache helicopter flies overhead to inspect the scene. "Fire mission" (a radio call for extra fire) by member of 29 Commando Regiment (Royal Artillery). MERT helicopter flies overhead. The enemy compound is again bombarded, by mortars assisted by Warriors of 1PWRR (off-sceen) and the Apache. Smoke rises; distant EF (enemy fire) can be heard. Camera (at ground level) is trained on the enemy compound. Further heavy firing, from (off-screen) 105mm guns; thick smoke and flames rise. Views from roof as Gurkhas prepare to fire. Brief interviews with Captain Gajendra Angdembe, OC 6 Troop, B Company 2RGR, and with Captain Emily Peers 2RGR. Gurkha soldier gives fire mission, calling in fresh fire. Firefight continues: fire support group in position on roof. Apache circles overhead as the fire fight continues on the roof; Captain Will Pilkington (Royal Marines) tells how insurgents had been spotted on the move and it may still not be safe to move from the current compound to the next objective. In the courtyard of the compound, Captain Peers talks with an Afghan family who are also caught in the compound: one of the children runs inside at the sound of gunfire. Later in the day: 1PWRR Warrior vehicles are silhouetted against the setting sun. Firing is still continuing. The vehicles advance; view from a different angle as they drive through the walls of the enemy compound. Apache continues to circle overhead and begins to fire at the compound (tracer bullets can be seen). At last light, members of 5 troop re-enter the compound where they had been staying. The firing ceases; they prepare food and relax. Scenes the following morning: Gurkhas relax and eat their breakfast. In the courtyard, chickens wander around as the Gurkhas gather.
