  • Summary: Amateur film shot in impersonal style by German Nazi Party official (Regierungsbezierkdirektor of Arnsberg) when attending Nazi Party Rally at Nuremberg, Hitler's 50th Birthday Parade in Berlin (April 1939) and at small German naval exercise prior to the Second World War.
  • Description: Spectator's perspective from stands of Reichsparteitaggelände stadium south-east of Nuremberg of Nazi Party columns on parade and marching with banners, with Hitler just visible. Columns goosestep past Hitler taking salute in centre of Nuremberg. More ceremonial parading in stadium. In Berlin (probably Hitler's 50th Birthday Parade, April 1939) Hitler inspects line of troops, then takes salute at marchpast by units of German Army, German Navy and Luftwaffe: Pzkpfw II, towed 8.8cm Flak guns, Sdkfz 222 and Sdkfz 232. Back in Nuremberg stadium, more ceremonial parades. Cut back to continuation of Berlin parade. Luftwaffe and Army demonstration at end of Nuremberg Rally, with planes and armoured forces performing before mass audience. Hitler addresses soldiers, then takes salute at marchpast through Nuremberg, also watched by foreign military attachĂ©s. Filmed from quayside, German Navy light forces (minesweepers 8, 104, 4, 122, 7 and 96, and three Raumboote) leave unidentified North German port in summer, watched by Germans, pre-war.
