Description: 'Gas' drill on beach, donning gas masks and marching across sand. A Nissen hut is erected. Troops construct railway line. On board ship, crossing to France; disembarking on arrival. "A day at a Pioneer Training Centre". Recruits arrive at centre, are kitted out at Quartermaster's stores, eat a meal in the dining room and go through initial stages in drill. More advanced recruits are given lecture on Bren gun use and maintenance, gas drill, PT, Colonel inspects the guards and three weeks later company leaves camp, ready for service overseas.
