Description: Various separate parts of the mortar are shown, with labels: base plate, barrel, mount and sight. Also displayed are two bombs: the L11A1 smoke (WP) bomb and the L10A2 HE bomb. In a field, three soldiers demonstrate the assembly and loading of the mortar. "Coming into action": a mortar platoon drive up in a Land Rover with trailer. The four-man crew dig in and set up the mortar. The Land Rover drives away. "Bedding in": final preparation and loading of the mortar. "Ranging": soldier on field telephone records the target coordinates and plots them. The mortar is loaded, sighted and fired at distant targets on a hillside; the distant impacts are shown. "Firing for effect": loading, sighting and firing of multiple bombs, seen hitting their distant targets. "Coming out of action": Land Rover with trailer is driven up, and the mortar is dismantled and loaded on board.
