Description: Royal Ordnance has eleven factories (plus two more private affiliates) and employs 22,000 people. One of the main products is guns; the barrel for the Chieftain tank's 120mm gun is shown being cast in the foundry. Heat treatment of gun barrel. The broad range of guns produced is illustrated. The importance of comprehensive quality control: checks during the construction of 105mm saddle cradle and trailer, and the manufacture of the turret for a Fox reconnaissance vehicle. Production of ammunition and shells. Demonstrations of the wide range of vehicles and equipment produced: Combat Engineer Tractor, explosive charges, smoke grenades, fuses, the Clansman radio system, the Eager Beaver all-terrain fork lift truck, barmine layer, automatic target apparatus. Fox vehicle is testen in various terrains, also seen laying smokescreen. Also shown are 105mm light gun, 76mm lightgun and ammunition for Scorpion light tank. Chieftain main battle tank in action with 120mm ammunition. Commentary finishes with the message "Quality - an all-important watchword of the Royal Ordnance Factories".
