Description: "Inspection of the Guard of Honour and ex-Soldiers and Sailors by Major-General Sir Reginald Hoskins KCB, CMG, DSO, General Officer Commanding North Midland Area." Servicemen stand to attention as the Major-General (accompanied by a stray dog) arrives and carries out his inspection. "Proceeding to the Memorial." The servicemen march through the streets in slow time, preceded by band. They pass a local church and Remington Bros store. Many of the men are in bcivilian clothes and some carry wreaths. "General View of the Ceremony." A very large crowd of people has gathered. "Unveiling of the Memorial Cross by Major-General Sir Reginald Hoskins KCB, CMG, DSO." The flags draping the memorial plinth are removed. "Address by Major-General Sir Reginald Hoskins KCB, CMG, DSO." He stands at the base of the memorial and addresses the large crowd - panning shot of those assembled (many look at the camera). "Dedication of the Memorial." Blessing and dedication by local clergy.
