Summary: Short comedy film made by members of the British Army showing the operation of the fictitious HART (HAmphibious Reconnaissance Tricycle).
Description: Senior officer (seen in his office looking at a Playboy centrefold) calls one of his officers in and allots him the task of company commander in charge of the new HART. On a parade ground, he is introduced to the tricycle (which has a large box on the front) and shown the various features including a "secure communications system" (a box with a carrier pigeon. The trike is seen in action on country paths, a soldier sitting in the box on the front. Its "rocket propulsion" system is shown (a series of Roman candles at the rear, with the film speeded up). It is also pedalled through water, showing its "hamphibious" capabilities. In woodland, the tricycle comes under attack, several men and their rifles climb out of the box and retaliate (as "Ride of the Valkyries" plays on the soundtrack). One man is shot - a stretcher is lifted from the tricycle box, the casualty is lowered into there, and Red Cross insignia are placed on the side. Soldiers advance through woodland towards victory and a message is sent back to HQ by pigeon. "Land of Hope and Glory" plays on the soundtrack.
